Signed limited first edition of this amusing account of the 19th-century dandy, number 4 of only 550 copies (500 of which were offered for sale), signed by Virginia Woolf in her characteristic purple ink on verso of the half title.

First published in the Nation & Athenaeum (September 28, 1929), Woolf's essay describes the life, habits and unfortunate end of Beau Brummel, early 19th-century arbiter of fashion.
