The Little Fire Engine and The Little Horse Bus were originally published in 1952 and 1954, each with illustrations by Dorothy Cragie. In the 1970s, The Bodley Head reissued them (along with The Little Steamroller and The Little Train, also by Greene) in uniform bindings, newly illustrated by Edward Ardizzone.
