SIGNED BY GRAHAM GREENE
GREENE, Graham. Why the Epigraph? London: Nonesuch, (1989). Octavo, original brown cloth. $300.
Signed limited first edition, number 356 of 950 copies signed by Greene, of this collection of all of the epigraphs from Greene's works.
In the Author's Note at the beginning of the book, Greene says that "I have had them printed in chronological order, for an author's work changes, as his ideas change, with the years, and the epigraphs he uses, like his books, form a sort of autobiography, beginning with the innocent disclosures of immaturity and ending with the uncertainties and fears of old age."
