First edition, first issue of Barrie's novel of a minister gaining, losing, and regaining the love of a woman, in original cloth.

One of a series of novels Barrie wrote based on tales told by his mother of her village in Scotland, The Little Minister was turned into a successful play in 1897 and eventually a movie starring Katharine Hepburn in 1934. First issue, with 16 pages of advertisements dated "9.91."

Interior generally fine, original cloth in excellent condition with only minor wear to extremities, small stain to spine head of Volume III. A near-fine copy.
