Before his international success with the Pooh books, Milne was a playwright and editor who kept up a constant stream of publications in the journals and newspapers of his day. These seven essays were mostly taken from Punch; the titles are "Oranges and Lemons," "Men of Letters," "Summer Days," "War-Time," "Home Notes," "A Few Guests" and "And Others." With eight pages of publisher's advertisements bound in at rear.

Interior fine, mild toning to original cloth, gilt bright. A near-fine copy.
