Limited first edition, number 26 of only 310 copies of this collection of three French essays on paper marbling, printed on dampened handmade Umbria paper at the Bird & Bull Press, with two mounted color illustrations of the early marbling process, a mounted photographic print of the author at work, and 13 original mounted samples of marbled paper, in deluxe original binding by Gray Parrot.

The three texts included in this work are "For the Making of Marbled Paper, Called Turkish Paper," from an unpublished manuscript, Lyon, 1642; "The Best Method of Making Marbled Paper," first published in the Journal Oéconomique, 1758; and "The Marbler of Paper," from Diderot's Encyclopédie, 1765. Also present is a lengthy introduction by the editor of the volume, marbling expert Richard Wolfe.
