WRIGHT, Frank Lloyd. Monograph 1889-1959. Eight volumes. WITH: Preliminary Studies. 1889-1959. Three volumes. WITH: In His Renderings. 1887-1959. Tokyo: A.D.A. Edita, 1984-85. Together, twelve volumes. Large quarto, original red cloth, original dust jackets, original cardboard boxes. $8000.

Rare first edition set of this striking compilation of Frank Lloyd Wright’s architectural works, lushly illustrated with hundreds of color photographic prints by Yukio Futagawa and with text by Bruce Brooks Pfeiffer.

These 12 volumes cover Frank Lloyd Wright's career from 1889 to 1959 and attempt to discuss all of his architectural works in detail. The first set of eight volumes are monographs that chronologically trace the development of Wright's style. The next three volumes contain preliminary studies, most published here for the first time, that were drawn by Wright for his most significant projects. The final volume is composed of 200 carefully selected renderings so exquisite that many consider them to be art rather than mere architectural drawings. The volumes in this set are generally sold individually. Complete sets, such as this one, are rare and are considered to be highly collectible.

An exceptionally fine set, rarely found complete.
