Mary Margaret McBride was a pioneering radio talk show host who became known as America's "first lady of radio." "McBride's listeners loved her, and she built a loyal following… During her heyday, McBride had a daily listening audience of more than six million, mostly women, who were unusually loyal fans… Her listeners knew that anything 'Mary Margaret' had endorsed was something they could trust… She also had a down-home yet lyrical style, and her descriptions of food often made people drool" (ANB). McBride's Encyclopedia also includes meal planning guides, cooking techniques, culinary tricks, usage of modern aids, menu planning guides, and thousands of photographs in black-and-white and color, along with step-by-step line illustrations.

Spines gently toned, Volume 7 only with minor bumps and scratches to rear board, faint dampstain to fore-edge of front board. A clean, tight set in very nearly fine condition.
