Wonderful large photograph of Douglas MacArthur, inscribed by the photographer who originally shot it: "To my good friend Harvey Chaloux from Eddie Jackson, THE NEWS, NYC," handsomely matted and framed with a 1951 newspaper quotation that originally ran with the photo.

Edward Jackson was a well-known photographer for the New York Daily News. He was active from the turn of the century through the post-war era, though he came to prominence as Woodrow Wilson's European photographer at the end of World War I. He also took a famous photograph of the "Big Four" (George, Orlando, Clemenceau, and Wilson) in Paris in 1919. At the Daily News, Jackson was lead photographer. He covered many of the most important events of the interwar and World War II years, including Lindbergh, the Bremen disaster, Black Thursday, the Depression, and the war itself.
