First edition of this illustrated history of Nepal, with 14 lovely tinted lithographic plates (two folding) and two diagrams (one folding).

Wright was the Surgeon to the Residency in Katmandu between the years 1863-76; this work covers the history of Katmandu Valley and Nepal from the earliest times to the death of General Bhimsena Thapa in 1839. With errata. Yakushi W131. Review from the 1928 Times Literary Supplement affixed to front flyleaf.

Plates fine, minor offsetting from review to surrounding blank pages, faint bookplate residue to front pastedown, only slightest wear to extremities of original cloth. An about-fine uncut copy.
