With over 550 recipes for recipes covering dinner from sauces to dessert, this work, drawing from Jewish traditions all over continental Europe, is one of the best and most comprehensive early works on Jewish cookery. Atrutel offers detailed directions on Passover preparation and cooking and provides young housewives directions on substitutions for butter and milk, proper kitchen care and sanitation, and kashering. The first edition was published in 1874.

Interior quite clean, original cloth unusually nice with only slight rubbing to spine ends. A lovely copy in near-fine condition.
